As a mama to three little ones and the daughter of a retired elementary school teacher, I love visiting schools + libraries to chat with students and get them fired up about books. Studies have shown reading makes kids more empathetic and helps them become life-long learners, so I believe it’s more important than ever to instill a passion for books in curious, creative kids.
I absolutely love visiting schools to talk about what it’s like to be an author and get kids excited about reading and writing. This workshop includes a brief talk about my beginnings as a writer, what daily life is like for an author, and the writing and revision process, followed by a Q & A. The presentation lasts 40 minutes, more or less, and can be tailored for various goals. I’m able to speak with students in grades K-12.
As part of a successful school visit, I assume my latest book will be for sale. This is easily organized through your local bookstore or HarperCollins.

I am able to do a limited number of virtual visits per year for a reduced fee. Virtual visits can also work well for things like writing clubs, high school creative writing classes, or library book clubs.
